Dear Raider Families,

Looking ahead, I’m sharing an update on our district calendar planning, Truth in Taxation meeting,  as well as a summary of the musical performances scheduled for December.

School Calendar Feedback & Recommendation

Thank you to the nearly 1,000 families and staff members who participated in the School Calendar Survey. Because Labor Day falls later for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years, Minnesota law permits districts to begin school before Labor Day during those years. After reviewing the survey results and community input, the Calendar Committee has recommended to the school board that both school years begin prior to Labor Day. The 26-27 and 27-28 school calendars were approved at the November 19 Regular School Board meeting.

 

Truth in Taxation

During the Regular School Board meeting on December 17, we will hold the Truth in Taxation presentation. We welcome all community members who have questions or would like more information to attend. 

Celebrate the Sounds of the Season

Our December concert schedule offers a wonderful showcase of student musicians, from elementary through high school. We warmly invite families and community members to experience these joyful performances across the district. You can see the full list of events here:

The Hastings Chamber of Commerce is asking community members to submit nominations for one outstanding educator of the year to be recognized at their annual awards ceremony on January 29th.

Nominating a teacher or educator who has made an impact on your student is simple. Fill out this short form with a few examples of why you feel the individual is deserving - 2025 Educator of the Year Nomination Form.
