Dear Raider Families,
At Hastings Public Schools, our primary mission is to keep students at the heart of all we do. We work to create an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and welcome. This allows our students to engage in rigorous, engaging, and evidence-based instruction that supports and challenges each and every student to thrive and succeed.
We know that due to recent events, our families and community members may have questions about the school district’s safety protocols. Please remember that all individuals, including parents, volunteers, and representatives from outside agencies, must adhere to the following when entering our buildings:
- Show Identification: Please have a valid ID available upon entry.
- Sign In: All visitors must officially check in at the main office.
- Wear a Visitor Badge: Badges must be visible throughout your visit.
- Outside Agencies: Representatives from outside agencies must provide proper identification, including legal documentation if required by law.
By following these procedures, you help us protect the normalcy of the school day, ensuring that our schools remain a welcoming place for every student who walks through our doors. Thank you for your partnership.
Families seeking community resources or additional support are encouraged to contact their building administrator for guidance and assistance.
Next week is National School Counseling Week, and I want to thank our school counselors for the important role they play in supporting students each day. Our counselors play a critical role in supporting students. We are grateful for the partnership our counselors provide to students, families, teachers, and administrators. Their commitment truly amplifies student success and strengthens our school communities.
I also invite families and community members to attend the Hastings Public Schools All District Band Concert on Tuesday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hastings High School gymnasium. Students in grades 5 to 12 will perform together, representing schools from across the district. This concert highlights the work students have been doing in band and the role music plays in our schools. The event is free and open to the public, and we hope you will join us to support our student musicians.
Go Raiders!
