Hastings High School August 2024

Dear HHS Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Hastings High School! I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all incoming freshmen as well as all other new students and families

Here at the high school, we have been busy this summer with a number of construction projects. When students arrive in just a couple of weeks, they will see additions to our safety and security measures, numerous spaces with new flooring, wonderful new bleachers in the field house, lighting upgrades, and a number of other improvements. We are proud of our facilities and want to thank the community for their support.

We strive for excellence at HHS. Your students will be supported throughout the year with extraordinary teachers and support staff. We also welcome all voices with the work we do so please don't hesitate to reach out.

Monday, August 19th- Student Schedules

Student schedules went live on the Parent Portal.

Wednesday, August 28th- Open House 

Open House from 5-7 pm

Hastings High School Open House will be on Wednesday, August 28th from 5:00-7:00PM. This will be a true open house where students and families can find their classrooms and lockers and explore the building. We will host a seminar for freshmen, new students, and families in the auditorium from 5-5:45. For any students or families who are unable to attend this presentation, we will share the slide deck immediately after the event. There will be an activities fair and access to community resources as well.

Tuesday, September 3rd- First Day of School for 9th Grade Only

The first day of school is ONLY FOR 9th GRADE!

We are excited for the freshman students to spend the day meeting their  link crew leaders and teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.

Here is what to expect:

-Link Crew leaders (juniors and seniors) will be trying to contact all students via phone or email by the end of this week.

-Students are to arrive at the high school around 7:45 am and hang out in the commons and we will direct them the rest of the day!

-Students DO NOT bring a backpack and please dress comfortably.

- School breakfast and  lunches are free again this year. 

-Students will meet link crew leaders, receive welcome messages, small and large group activities, lunch, tour the building, walk through their class schedule, and school pictures will also be taken in the middle of the day.

Our junior and senior Link Crew Leaders have gone through three days of training and are VERY EXCITED to make our freshmen orientation at Hastings High School a wonderful experience!

Wednesday, September 4th- First day of Classes for 9th-12th Grade

Students are to follow their schedules for first semester classes.
