Mr. Doran

Dear HHS Parents,
Guardians and Students,

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable spring break and is ready to jump back into the final stretch of the school year. As we return, please continue to keep an eye out for communications from the high school regarding testing dates and other pertinent information.

Before break, we were proud to host our 2nd Annual Polar Plunge, supporting Special Olympics Minnesota and celebrating the spirit of inclusion within our school community. This event was a powerful reminder of the compassion, leadership, and commitment our students and staff bring to creating a place where everyone belongs.

As we move forward, we look ahead to warmer weather, more outdoor activities, and the final months of the school year, with our focus turning toward graduation in June and celebrating all that our students have accomplished.

Warmly,
Scott Doran

Honorees from the last two weeks :

This week's faculty feature is Josh McLay!

We are celebrating Josh McLay for the HHS Faculty Feature.
Mr. McLay does a great job of getting all of his students involved in his classes - learning about lifelong exercises and activities.

He also does a fantastic job of coaching his mentor students on how to ensure that they are actively participating with their mentees so that class is an enjoyable experience.

One of his colleagues said, "He is incredible at his job!  What he does with his students is simply amazing; you can see the joy and fun his students are
having in class."

Congratulations Mr. McLay!

Behind the scenes of every successful school day is someone keeping everything on track and for us, that person is Krista Giesen!

Krista plays an essential role in supporting our administrative team, staff, students, and families. There are so many projects where she is always helping organize, coordinate, and make sure the details are handled even down to counting all of the diplomas at graduation!

Krista is also often the very first person students interact with when they enter the office. Her welcoming presence, calm demeanor, and willingness to help set the tone for a positive experience.

Her attention to detail, organization, and steady problem-solving help our school run smoothly each and every day. We are incredibly grateful for Krista and the dedication she brings to our school community.

Thank you, Krista, for everything you do!
