Dear Raider Families,
Welcome back! I hope spring break provided an opportunity for rest, time with family, and a chance to recharge. As we return to our school routines and begin the final stretch of the school year, our spring activities and athletics are also getting underway. This time of year always seems to move quickly. As we jump back in, I’d like to share a few updates from around the district.
Earlier this month, the School Board held a work session where principals from across the district shared updates on how their schools are strengthening student engagement and supporting positive learning environments. These conversations help ensure we continue meeting the academic and social needs of our students while creating meaningful learning experiences in every building.
The Board also reviewed potential curriculum additions, including an 8th-grade World Geography course and a new high school elective focused on the History of Sport. These proposals reflect our continued commitment to offering engaging, relevant learning opportunities that connect students’ interests with strong academic experiences.
We also want to remind families with young children about our upcoming Early Childhood Screening opportunities. Early Childhood Screening is a free and simple check of a child’s development and is required for all children before entering kindergarten in Minnesota. We have just a few screening dates remaining this school year in April and May. If your child is age three or older and has not yet been screened, we encourage you to schedule an appointment soon.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students and schools. Spring is a busy and exciting time across the district, and we look forward to the many learning opportunities, activities, and celebrations ahead as we finish the school year strong.
Go Raiders!
