Dear Raider Families,
As we begin the first week of March, thank you to all families and staff who participated in parent-teacher conferences. These conversations are an important part of supporting student success, and we appreciate your partnership.
At last week's School Board meeting, we received an encouraging update on curriculum and student achievement across our district. According to our FastBridge assessment results in both literacy and math, our students are demonstrating encouraging progress. Elementary literacy continues to show strong results, with approximately 80% of kindergarten and first-grade students making expected growth. In grades 2–8, more than 60% of students are meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations in reading. In mathematics, 73% of students in grades K–4 are meeting grade-level benchmarks. Targeted interventions at all levels are helping students demonstrate meaningful growth. These outcomes reflect the continued implementation of Wit & Wisdom in literacy, Bridges in Mathematics, and Amplify Science, and our strong, data-driven approach to supporting every learner.
The Board also reviewed our October 1 enrollment snapshot and long-term financial plan. Enrollment trends directly impact school funding, staffing, and programming decisions, making careful monitoring essential. By analyzing long-term projections and aligning resources thoughtfully, we remain committed to maintaining strong academic opportunities for students while being responsible stewards of community resources.
As a reminder, Spring Break is scheduled for March 16–20. There will be no school for students during that week. Families can stay up to date on upcoming important dates and events by viewing our district calendars. Because of Spring Break, there will not be a Raider Update published next week. The next Raider Update will return on March 22.
Go Raiders!
