MCAULIFFE UPDATE

12/23/25

Dear families,

We are committed to helping every child grow and succeed academically. One of the tools we use to support this goal is the FastBridge screening assessments, which are given three times each school year, in the fall, winter, and spring. Our winter screening will begin on January 6 and will be completed by January 23.

FastBridge screeners are short, age-appropriate assessments that help teachers understand how students are developing in key areas such as reading and math. These assessments do not replace classroom instruction or grades. Instead, they provide information that helps teachers meet each child’s needs.

Administering the screeners three times a year allows us to:

•Identify strengths and areas for growth early, so support can be provided as soon as possible

•Monitor progress over time, ensuring students are on track or receiving the right level of help

•Adjust instruction and interventions based on each child’s learning progress

•Celebrate growth, as students and teachers can see improvements across the year

Because children learn and grow rapidly in the early elementary years, checking in at multiple points helps us respond thoughtfully and proactively. The results help teachers provide targeted support and communicate clearly with families about student progress.

We appreciate your partnership as we work together to support your child’s learning. There will be a parent communication sent to you about your child’s FastBridge results after the assessment window closes.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community.  Enjoy winter break!!

Sincerely,
Mr. Esterby
