Dear Parents,
We need help in two ways...volunteers and employment!!
Volunteers: Our school is committed to helping every child become a confident, joyful reader-and we need your help to make that happen. We are inviting parents, grandparents, and caring community members to volunteer as one-on-one reading buddies for our students.
Just 30-60 minutes a week can make a tremendous difference. Volunteers sit with a child, listen as they read, offer encouragement, and help build skills that will benefit them for years to come. No teaching experience is required-just a little patience, kindness, and a willingness to show up. We provide simple guidance, materials, and support every step of the way!
Reading with an adult gives children a sense of confidence and connection that can’t be replaced. Many of our students simply need extra practice and a positive role model cheering them on. Your presence could be the moment that helps a reluctant reader start to believe in themselves.
If you’ve ever wanted to make a meaningful impact but weren’t sure where to start, this is a wonderful opportunity. The commitment is small-yet the difference you can make is enormous!
If you’re interested or have questions, please fill out this Volunteer Form! We would be thrilled to welcome you as part of our school community.
Thank you for supporting our students!
Employment: We have multiple student support positions available if you are interested in employment!
Hastings Public Schools is currently looking to hire multiple paraprofessionals to support students at both the elementary and high school levels.
