Superintendent Update

Dear Raider Families,

November always reminds me how much there is to be grateful for in Hastings Public Schools. I’m thankful every day for the students who inspire us, the staff who go above and beyond, and the families and community members who continue to support our schools in so many ways.

School Perceptions Survey

The results are in! This year’s School Perceptions findings will be shared at the regular School Board meeting on Wednesday, November 19.
We encourage you to join us, as board meetings are open to all and held in the Hastings Middle School Media Center. For added convenience, meetings are also live-streamed.

College and Career Fair

Last week’s College and Career Fair gave students a meaningful chance to explore future possibilities, whether through college, technical

training, or local career opportunities. More than 900 students attended the event, connecting with a wide range of vendors that included trade industries, professional organizations, small and large businesses, two-year and four-year colleges, and every branch of the military. We are grateful to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners whose support and enthusiasm made the event a success.

Fall Break

Fall break is coming up on November 27, 28, and December 1. There will be no school for students on these days, with December 1 reserved for staff development. We hope everyone enjoys a few days to rest and recharge before we return to regular classes on Tuesday, December 2.

As we head into the final stretch of November, thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students, staff, and schools. Together, we’re creating learning experiences that inspire growth and connection across our Hastings community.

Go Raiders!

Rotary Student of the Month October   Fiona Myers

Hastings High School is proud to recognize Fiona Myers as the October Rotary Student of the Month.

Fiona is a phenomenal young woman who exemplifies both leadership and character in all that she does. As a student-athlete, she is known for her positive attitude, her support of others, and her integrity. “Fiona’s ability to lead comes directly from her high character, which she exemplifies through morality, courage, and integrity,” shared Mr. Haneberg.

In addition to her academic and athletic accomplishments, Fiona has served as a Link Crew leader for the past two years, helping to welcome ninth graders and foster a positive school culture. Ms. Massmann describes her as “a great energy and sense of humor as a leader, while also consistently showing up as a steady and reliable presence.”

Academically, Fiona’s work ethic and perseverance stand out. “Even when the material was difficult, she approached class with a positive attitude and worked hard to reach her goals,” said Ms. Benson. “She was a delight to work with every single day.”

Congratulations, Fiona, on this well-deserved recognition!
