Dear Raider Families,
By now, you’ve hopefully enjoyed that extra hour of sleep with the end of Daylight Saving Time. November brings a renewed sense of focus and plenty of opportunities to stay engaged with our schools and community.
Speaking of community, Election Day is this Tuesday, November 4, 2025. ISD 200 will hold a Special Election to fill a vacancy on the School Board. The individual elected will serve a term beginning in January 2026 and ending in January 2029.
For some Hastings students, this election marks a special milestone, their first time voting. We’re proud of these students for stepping into civic life and taking part in shaping the future of our schools and community.
This week also gives us a chance to celebrate another group of dedicated professionals. November 3–7 is National School Psychologist Week. Our school psychologists play a vital role in supporting students’ mental health, learning, and overall well-being. Their work helps ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and ready to succeed.
A little extra support can make a big difference. Thanks to the Ruth and George Doffing Charitable Fund, twelve Hastings teachers each received $1,000 Adopt-A-Classroom grants. These funds help teachers bring creative ideas to life and add special touches that make classrooms warm, engaging, and full of learning. We’re deeply grateful for this partnership that celebrates great teaching and puts students first.
Lastly, as Labor Day falls later in the calendar for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years, the Minnesota Legislature allows school districts to begin the school year before Labor Day during these two years.
We’re seeking your feedback on potential start dates to help us design a school calendar that best meets the needs of our students, staff, and families.
Please take a moment to complete this survey to share your thoughts. Thank you for your input and continued support.
Go Raiders!
